Fuck the Supreme Court

*screaming into the void, transly and forever*

Welcome to What’s Helping Today, a newsletter about the everyday work of staying alive on earth — written by Sandy Ernest Allen.

From the bottom of my trans soul:

Fuck the Supreme Court, fuck the Supreme Court, fuck the Supreme court …

Some links, for context …

Some posts I nodded at:

See, people always want to make this just about "sports," but the real upshot here is that, 6-3, trans women can't make a claim under the Equal Protection Clause. And if they can't do that, it's hard to see how they have constitutional rights.

i say this a lot but the speed with which things turned back on trans people after about ~5-6 years is absolutely dizzying

This one has gotten some lovely responses so far, including:

What a beautiful and poignant essay! One of my dreams is to open some kind of trans writers’ retreat wherever I land (looks like Mexico ATM), which has morphed into “just” a place where any trans person could come for respite for cheap. This essay makes me think I shouldn’t abandon the idea.

Thanks to all who’ve read (and shared it)!

Alright. Keeping it brief today.

Here is this one again:
